Iceland Yoga Retreat with Angie Knight

    Akureyri, Northern Iceland
    http://www.oneyogaglobal.com/iceland-angie-knight/

We’re heading North! Iceland is one of the planet’s true gems. With a total population of only 330,000, Iceland has struck a perfect balance between a warm, welcoming culture and the raw, untamed beauty of its vast mountainous landscapes. While most toursist groups and cruise lines visit the southern capital city Reykjavik (where the majority of population is), we’ll be heading to 66°North Iceland to the town of Akureyri–one of Iceland’s best kept secrets. The cultural capital of Iceland, Akureyri has been voted the number one destination in all of Europe by Lonely Planet on more than one occasion (including 2015). With a population of only 18,000, a mild climate on the longest fjord in the country, and close proximity to the Arctic Circle (meaning amazing Northern Lights!), Northern Iceland is truly THE place to visit. One Yoga Retreats is in an exclusive partnership with the only yoga and wellness center in Northern Iceland. Enjoy your daily yoga practice in a newly-built, one-of-a-kind studio with majestic views of the fjord and soaring mountains that will warm your body and soul. This wellness center is complete with massage rooms, dry sauna, Jacuzzi, showers, changing rooms, and all the amenities, and our friendly and knowledgeable guides live on site, giving this space a personal touch.Guests of our retreats have a choice of staying in local private apartments complete with geothermal Jacuzzis or at a local hotel in the city center. These comfortable and modern accommodations serve as a launching point for exploring some of most powerful places in Iceland and diving into the island’s rich traditions. You’ll have the opportunity to ride Icelandic horses, see the humpback whales that live in the fjord, visit a nearby island and hike its mountaintops, work with a team of champion Huskies, and possibly even experience the Aurora Borealis.Because of the high demand for this destination and limited accommodations, and since we book inland flights from Reykjavik to Akureyri for participants, these retreats are typically organized 8-16 months in advance. Please register early to reserve your spot!

      What Past Attendees Have Said:

“I am so happy to have found this amazing yoga retreat.  Maya Tulum is the perfect place to take off my shoes (and not put them back on for a week) and treat myself to precious alone time, delicious food, and amazing treatments, and relax in a beautiful cabaña right on the beach.  All of this by itself is enough to rejuvenate the body and mind.  But what really makes the retreat one-of-a-magic is Angie. Angie is a friend, a teacher, and a healer to each person in the group. She facilitates and holds the space for a truly life-altering experience. I can’t wait to get back next year!”
      -Marimar, Baja, Mexico

“Finding the right and fitting words to describe last year’s retreat experience with Angie is an overwhelming exercise that, to this day, overpowers my senses with absolute peace and wonderful daydreams born out of a week where I totally surrendered myself to the elements of life. So much beauty and peace emanates from the hallowed grounds of Maya Tulum that going back is not in question. Angie’s radiance of life, love, and grace is a phenomenon in and of itself. I arrived at Maya Tulum with a deep longing for internal peace and healing and left with a fulfilled heart, a satiated palate (the amazing food deserves it’s own write up), and more blessings than I can count.”
      -Manny, Austin, TX

“I’ve been to Angie’s Tulum retreat twice with my husband and we’re considering a third time. Each experience was uniquely beautiful and exactly what I needed each time. Healing and strengthening yoga, delectable and healthy food, friendly atmosphere and beachfront location make it the perfect vacation. This week is a gift that will stay with you all year long.
      -Stacy Michaelsen, Austin, TX

“Of all the retreats, and special places I have been in this world, none were close to this experience at Maya Tulum. This place and the hospitality of the staff made the sun, the ocean, and the beach all feel like one long moment of magic. Angie supported me through another level of transformation with just the right influence, like I have never experienced in my 8 years of yoga practice.Thank you!”
      -Nick Sarillo, Chicago, Ill.

"This was one of my favorite trips!! I had 3 friends join me, one in her 50's who had never done yoga before and did not know Angie or Jenn. Now she practices yoga in Denver, CO.  We had great food, yoga, and activities everyday.  The resort was absolutely beautiful with a welcoming and attentive staff. Everyone should take a trip like this in their lives!! I would recommend to anyone and looking forward to going again. "

THE ART OF HOLDING SPACE: WEEKEND INTENSIVE WITH JENN WOOTEN AND ANGIE KNIGHT

        To register, go to
        http://www.yogayoga.com/calendar/details?event_id=7353322

Do you want to learn to care for others without taking on their pain as your own?  Do you feel drained or anxious after interacting with the people you care about or work with?  Do you feel emotionally and energetically overwhelmed in a group setting?  Do you pick up on other people's feelings and have a difficult time shedding that at the end of the day?  Are you a healer, teacher, caregiver, parent, or human being that would like to learn how to hold a loving space for others while being able to maintain your own energy and equanimity?

Join Jenn and Angie for a life-altering weekend as we share with you our experience and knowledge of how to hold a loving space for others while having healthy boundaries so that your work and presence can be healing, sustainable and replenishing.  We would like to offer you the skills to be to be a loving presence for others while caring for yourself.

We are offering this weekend intensive to help you differentiate between your own energy and others.  We will give you practical tools to learn to call on energetic support so that you are are not holding other's stories and traumas as your own.

In this 12 hour course, we will explore:

What is means to hold space
        Mindfulness Practices
        Dropping into Presence
Active Listening and Deeper Intuitive Listening
        Regulating the Nervous System
        Understanding Stress and Trauma
Practicing Self-Care While Caring for Others
Holding Space is the capacity to be a grounded, compassionate, generous and non-judgmental presence for individuals or groups in need of support or care. Holding space means to create a stable and open container for people to be exactly where they are in the moment, to be comfortable sitting with discomfort, to witness emotional states as they rise and fall away, without the need to fix fade or change them and to allow a deeper state of being that is beyond duality, a state of being that heals from within. Before we learn how to do this for others, we learn how to do it for ourselves.

This weekend is for yoga teachers, caregivers, bodyworkers, healthcare professionals, the emotionally sensitive and those who want to deepen their understanding of how to hold space in a way that is sustainable and sacred.

        SCHEDULE:

Today is your day to dance lightly with life, sing wild songs of adventure, soar your spirit, unfurl your joy. ~ Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Levity and love are knocking from the inside of each of you, longing for expression. They surface effortlessly when you allow yourself a space that is beyond doing, beyond your checklists and daily obligations. This experience in Tulum is the doorway to that space. What Past Attendees Have Said:

Angie supported me through another level of transformation with just the right influence, like I have never experienced in my 8 years of yoga practice.  Thank you!”

        -Nick Sarillo, Chicago, Ill.

“I’ve experienced two of Angie’s retreats at Maya Tulum, and each one was truly special.  Maya Tulum is amazing.  The food is delicious and fresh, the bodywork is incredible, and the cabanas are clean and comfortable.  I love waking to the lapping waves and walking barefoot to the morning yoga.  But what really makes the retreat one-of-a-magic is Angie.  Angie is a friend, a teacher, and a healer to each person in the group.  She facilitates and holds the space for a truly life-altering experience.  I am going back for the third time….”

        -Marimar, Baja Mexico

Comments on retreats Jenn and Angie have led together:

“I can't say enough good things about the retreat. I loved the place, the food was delicious, and the people were great, but most importantly Jenn and Angie created an open environment of trust, support, and discovery that made the experience transformative for me.”- Julia

This retreat was magical and life-changing. I'm very grateful to the two amazing teachers, all the lovely fellow retreaters, the chefs who prepared great food, and to the retreat center and grounds which felt so sacred and safe. Days later I'm still basking in the glow of the experience. - Kathleen

Return to Wholeness-A Women's Renewal Retreat with Angie Knight and Jenn Wooten

Return to Wholeness – A Women’s Renewal Retreat
With Angie Knight and Jenn Wooten

Don’t let another day go by without being touched by the magic inside you. ~ Prem Rawat

        Wholeness.
An undivided and unbroken completeness, with nothing wanting.
        This is you.

This is easy to forget. In the midst of societal and familial expectations, heartbreak, loss and our busy lives we forget that there is space. In the midst of our ambitions and our poverty mentality we forget that there is abundance. In the midst of our fear and self-judgments we forget that there is levity. In a cultural mindset that insists on taking things apart in order to fix them we forget that we are not broken.

Let this retreat be a return to the wholeness that you are already. It does not matter who you are or who you take yourself to be. Neither does it matter what has happened to you in the past or where you find yourself in the present. Angie and Jenn will lead you in a journey to remember your fundamental openness. This retreat will create a safe and loving environment in which we can recognize our basic goodness and the goodness of others.

Please join us for this weekend of self-care, ceremony, renewal and reflection at the Lotus Ranch in Wimberley, Texas. The Lotus Ranch is a 40 acre creative retreat and nature preserve with two miles of winding hiking trails and many comfortable and airy communal spaces for nurturing both quiet self-reflection and community support.

We’ll begin the mornings with ritual hatha flow and we will end the days with yin yoga, Thai yoga massage, dance and celebration. Bring your swimsuits to soak in the Jacuzzi.

Arrival is a 4pm on Friday January 31st and we will depart after a celebratory brunch on Sunday February 2nd.

The retreat cost includes yoga, lodging and delicious and healthy vegetarian meals.

        Cost: $449
A $200 deposit will reserve your space and is refundable until 4 weeks prior to the retreat.

A little feedback from last year:

This weekend was magical and life-changing. I'm very grateful to the two amazing teachers, all the lovely fellow retreaters, the chefs who prepared great food all weekend, and to the retreat center and grounds which felt so sacred and safe. Days later I'm still basking in the glow of the experience. - Kathleen

I have attended this retreat for two years in a row. It is a perfect way to reset and recharge from all the roles in my everyday life. Jen and Angie create a very special experience for women of all ages and backgrounds. - Kelly

I can't say enough good things about the retreat. I loved the place, the food was delicious, and the people were great, but most importantly Jenn and Angie created an open environment of trust, support, and discovery that made the weekend transformative for me. - Julia

This retreat was even better than I'd hoped going into it. I loved the yoga sessions and the great flow and variety that Jenn and Angie brought to the practice, and really enjoyed having time outside of "real life" to reflect on the themes of the practice. There was a powerful connection with the other women that occurred, and it was a real gift to be able to share the energy of the weekend with them. - Laura

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT (You can call Yoga Yoga Westgate (512) 514-3973 and get on the waiting list....good chance there will be cancellations.)

Join Angie to experience yoga as a sacred ceremony.  In practicing and exploring at the level of enegy and Spirit, we can become our own teachers and healers. By shifting our perception and accessing Spirit directly, we can transform our wounds into power and compassion. Experience that you are an integral part of the matrix of creation and have the power to mulch heavy energies into vitality and strength. Remember that you have an innate ability to heal and grow. Realize that you can "go upstream" to the level of energy and Spirit to integrate body, mind and Spirit to accelerate your growth and take a flight of faith to realize your potential. Angie will share some wisdom passed down to her from the Q'uero Shamans (Laika), descendants of the Inkas, Alberto Villoldo and the Light Body School of The Four Winds Society. Together, we will co-create space to witness, release, transform and wake up!

As the Hopi elders said, "Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for."

Some Hatha experience preferred, but all levels welcome. If you are drawn to come, you are meant to be there. In "munay" which is pure love, I look forward to this journey together.

Angie Knight has studied yoga, shamanism, and other healing arts over the past twelve years. She views yoga as a way of life rather than just a physical practice. She likes that yoga has helped her find strength, but it has also taught her surrender and to embrace the shadowy side of herself and life with compassion and acceptance. Angie treats yoga class like a ceremony, where sacred ritual is a part of everyday life and practice. It is a way to listen to the guidance that is always within us and to find strength to act upon that intuition.
